Zena is a linguist: qualified Interpreter and translator, and Author of children’s books (7 books published to date). Zena is a Member of Chartered Institute of Linguists in UK, and National Register of Public Service Interpreters. She has a B.A. degree (Hons.) in translation and Interpreting, from College of Arts Mustansarya University, Baghdad in 1995. She studied French for 5 years, and had an intensive course in functional German. Zena had 2 intensive courses in Tajweed (Quran special reciting).
Besides working as a linguist, Zena worked as admin and liaison in International Divisions for 2 banks.(Commercial Bank of Iraq and Qatar National Bank). Zena worked as Liaison officer and interpreter for a high profile person 2003-2005, doing live media interviews on many TV channels such as ITV and CH4 , she interpreted for law courts and council investigations. Zena also worked as a telephone interpreter for Police and Immigration. She did 2 years specialized interpreting for mental health encounters, prior to working for Ascot. Zena’s passion has always been languages and acquiring people’s skills.

Aseel has a degree in computer science with economics, and has several managerial positions in family business. Aseel has previously worked at a senior level with internationals and played part in the UN IOM voter education program. Aseel’s multi lingual and multi cultural background enabled her to take part in several key negotiations in high profile companies and governmental agencies. She also has an extensive experience in simultaneous translation and has translated, from Arabic to English and vice versa in live conferences. Aseel is an articulate and highly motivated team player. She currently works as a Coordinator in Ascot Rehab.
Saba KafilBCS in Architecture Lead Coordinator
Degree in Agriculture – Lead Coordinator
Saba is the lead coordinator at Ascot Rehab. She works closely with patients and their families to ensure patients’ needs are met during their stay at the centre. Saba works alongside the international team at Ascot to provide the highest standard of care to our patients, in line with their cultural and language needs. She brings her experience in working with various educational and charitable organisations into the team. Saba is fluent in English and Arabic (studied DPSI in Legal Interpreting and Translation), and is also studying philosophy as a hobby.
Zahra SandukMBChB in medicine Interpreter
MBChB in medicine – Interpreter
Zahra holds an MBChB in medicine from Baghdad University, board degree in anaesthesia and intensive care. She worked as a GP in remote areas then anaesthetist in several teaching hospitals. Zahra also assisted in the respiratory care units at the same hospitals. Zahra has great interest in languages and she is currently working as an interpreter in Ascot Rehab.
