Job Description:

Overview

Ascot Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse with established Neuro Rehabilitation experience to join our dedicated nursing team. As part of a specialist neurorehabilitation centre of excellence, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients with complex neurological conditions such as brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, progressive disorders etc. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in delivering safe, patient-centred care while working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to help patients maximise recovery and independence.

Duties

  • Deliver specialist nursing care for patients with complex neurological needs, including tracheostomy management, PEG feeding, spasticity, and medication regimes.
  • Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and contribute to individualised rehabilitation, care plans and risk assessments.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely in line with clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor patients’ physical and neurological status, promptly escalating any changes to the MDT.
  • Provide education and emotional support to patients and families, promoting independence and engagement in rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, medical team and consultants to ensure holistic, multidisciplinary care.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior nursing staff and healthcare assistants.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date nursing documentation and contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development, training, and service development to uphold Ascot Rehabilitation’s centre of excellence standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid NMC registration as an Adult Nurse (RGN).
  • Proven experience in neurorehabilitation or complex care nursing.
  • Competence in managing tracheostomies, PEG feeding, and neurological care needs.
  • Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, and pharmacology in the context of neurological rehabilitation.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and deliver safe, compassionate care under pressure.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts (full-time/part-time, 36-48 hours per week) including weekends, bank holidays on a rota basis.

Occupational Therapist

Job Description:

Ascot Rehabilitation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist Neuro Occupational Therapist to join our expert neurorehabilitation team. This role is dedicated to working with patients who have sustained complex neurological injuries and conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and other progressive neurological disorders. The successful candidate will deliver innovative, evidence based, patient-centred rehabilitation programmes aimed at maximising independence and quality of life.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive neuro-occupational therapy assessments, addressing physical, cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial needs.
  • Develop and deliver individualised, goal-oriented treatment programmes focused on activities of daily living (ADLs), vocational rehabilitation, upper limb function, and cognitive retraining.
  • Conduct upper limb rehabilitation, making use of robotics and advanced neurorehabilitation technologies.
  • Work collaboratively within a specialist multidisciplinary team (physiotherapists, SLTs, neuropsychologists, nurses, and medical consultants) to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior OTs, therapy assistants, and students.
  • Support patients and families with education, training, and home/community integration strategies.
  • Actively contribute to service development, audits, and research initiatives, supporting Ascot Rehabilitation’s reputation as a centre of excellence.
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Recognised degree in Occupational Therapy (BSc/MSc or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Extensive experience in neurological rehabilitation (5 years preferred).
  • Advanced clinical skills in neuro-occupational therapy, including functional assessment, upper limb rehab, cognitive rehabilitation, and complex discharge planning.
  • Proven ability to supervise junior staff.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centred care.
  • Passion for innovation in neurorehabilitation, with interest in robotics, advanced rehab technologies, and evidence-based practice.

Physiotherapist or Senior Physiotherapist (Neuro & Rehabilitation)

Senior Occupational Therapist

Location: Streatham, London

You will be an active member of the multiciliary team, providing a comprehensive therapy service to Ascot Rehab. Working within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as autonomous practitioner assessing and treating own caseload of patients/clients and maintaining professional; documentation.

You will build up and maintain key relationships with referring embassies, GPs, acute providers. Insurance companies, case managers to ensure appropriate referrals and understanding of the role of the occupational therapy and multi-professional team. With responsibility for supervision of rehabilitation assistants and occupational therapy students and junior staff.

In this role support self and service development through active participation in continuing professional development CPD and by participating in any audit or research being undertaken by the service

Registered Staff Nurses – openings from September 2023

Location: Streatham, London

Staff nurses ensure the wellbeing of patients and service within the hospital, ensuring that their physical, emotional and social needs are met, whilst helping them to achieve their full capabilities. You will act in accordance with the NMC professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses and midwives. Setting and maintaining the highest standard of care in the clinical area.

Staff nurses act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organisation. With responsibility for supervising junior staff within the hospital. You will ensure that high quality care is delivered to the person and to work as part of a cohesive transdisciplinary team promoting rehabilitation 24/7.

The expectations within this job description will be achieved through hands on clinical practice, education and training. Ascot Rehabilitation will support you with the revalidation process and facilitate access to individuals who are able to undertake confirmation and reflective discussion roles. These may or will form part of clinical supervisions where reflective practice, professional development and feedback form part of the ongoing support for NMC registrants.’
