What We Offer

14+ Specialist Treatment
Techniques

Our physiotherapy and spasticity clinic offers a comprehensive suite of evidence-based techniques — from classic hands-on therapy to advanced clinical interventions. Every approach is selected to suit the individual patient and their stage of recovery.

Hands-On Therapy Techniques

The foundation of our physiotherapy approach — skilled manual therapy including joint mobilisation, soft tissue work, facilitation techniques and therapeutic exercise. Our physiotherapists use clinical reasoning to select the most effective hands-on approach for each patient at each stage of their recovery, adapting as progress develops.

Hydrotherapy

Physiotherapy in our temperature-controlled pool — using buoyancy to reduce loading while improving strength, balance, movement quality and confidence. Particularly effective for neurological patients in the early stages of recovery.

Functional Electrical Stimulation

FES uses low-level electrical currents to activate muscles weakened by neurological injury — supporting movement re-education, reducing muscle atrophy and improving functional use of affected limbs.

99%
Patient-Centred

Every single technique we use is chosen for the individual — not applied by default. We believe the right intervention at the right time makes all the difference.

Gait Re-education

Specialist walking rehabilitation — addressing gait pattern, balance, safety and functional walking speed using both hands-on techniques and advanced robotic gait training technology where appropriate.

Botulinum Toxin Injections

Administered as part of our specialist spasticity service — botulinum toxin injections reduce muscle overactivity and allow physiotherapy to achieve better outcomes in patients with spasticity following neurological injury.

Splinting & Casting

Custom splints and serial casting are used to manage muscle tightness, prevent contracture and maintain joint range of motion — particularly important in patients with high tone or spasticity following neurological events. Our physiotherapists work closely with the wider team to ensure splinting programmes complement all other aspects of rehabilitation.

Resting splints Dynamic splints Serial casting Contracture management
Acupuncture

Western medical acupuncture is offered as an adjunct to physiotherapy for pain management, muscle relaxation and supporting functional recovery in appropriate patients.

Posture, Seating & Positioning

Expert assessment and equipment recommendations for patients with postural difficulties — ensuring correct positioning prevents complications, reduces pain and enables participation in therapy and daily activities.

Group Working

Exercise and outdoor mobility groups provide motivating, social rehabilitation — helping patients build confidence and endurance alongside peers at a similar stage of recovery.

Return to Work

Structured programmes supporting patients back into employment — including practical skills training, work simulation, functional capacity assessment and liaison with employers where appropriate.

Patient Aftercare

Recovery doesn't end at discharge. We provide structured aftercare plans, home exercise programmes and follow-up appointments to support long-term independence and continued progress beyond our walls.

Why It Matters
Spasticity Left Unmanaged

Unmanaged spasticity can limit function, cause pain and restrict rehabilitation progress. Our specialist clinic addresses it comprehensively — combining medical interventions with focused physiotherapy to achieve outcomes that neither approach alone can match.

Our Model
Analytical & Multidisciplinary

We don't offer spasticity management as an isolated service. It is fully integrated into the wider rehabilitation plan — with neurologists, physiotherapists, nurses and consultants all involved in assessment and ongoing management.

Ongoing Support
Flexible Follow-Up

Follow-up appointments are arranged according to each client's needs — not a fixed schedule. As spasticity changes over time, so does our approach.

Getting Started

What to Expect
at Your First Session

We know beginning physiotherapy can feel daunting. Here is exactly what happens at your first appointment — so there are no surprises, only a clear path forward.

Our Promise to You

"You will leave your first session with a clear understanding of your current situation, your goals, and the plan we are going to use to get you there."

1
Welcome & History Taking

Your physiotherapist will take time to understand your medical background, current difficulties and — most importantly — what you want to achieve. This is not a tick-box exercise. It is a genuine conversation.

2
Physical Assessment

A thorough hands-on assessment of your movement, strength, balance, tone and function — using standardised clinical measures to establish an accurate baseline and identify priorities.

3
Goal-Setting

Together we identify goals that are meaningful to you — whether that is walking independently, returning to work, managing pain or something entirely specific to your life. Goals drive everything we do.

4
Programme Design

Your physiotherapist outlines a treatment plan — including frequency, techniques, any technology to be used, and how we will measure progress. You will understand exactly what we are doing and why.

5
Treatment Begins

Where appropriate, treatment starts in the first session — because time matters in neurological recovery. There is no unnecessary waiting once a plan is agreed.

6
Ongoing Review & Aftercare

Progress is formally reviewed at regular intervals. Your programme is adjusted as you improve, with a clear plan for discharge and long-term self-management wherever appropriate.
